Tasmania Roadtrip - Week 2 - Stanley

This is all that remains of the Convict Barracks built down the road from Highfield House in 1834. They housed up to 73 convicts who were assigned to help establish Highfield. It was in use until Convict Transportation ceased in 1853. Now Cape Grim beef cattle graze in the fields around it.
